Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 20, 2026
SMSS.net ("we", "us") operates a free, public SMS inbox viewer. This policy explains what we do and don't collect. It's written in plain language on purpose.
The most important thing
Public inboxes are public. Any SMS received on one of our numbers is visible to anyone who opens that number's page. Do not send anything to these numbers that you would not want a stranger to read. Never use them for banking, payments, account recovery, or any sensitive purpose.
Information we do not collect
- We do not require you to create an account.
- We do not ask for your name, personal phone number, or payment details.
- We do not sell personal data.
Information we do process
- Incoming SMS content on our public numbers, which is displayed publicly and cycled out over time.
- Basic technical data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited) collected through standard server logs and analytics to keep the service running and improve it.
- Advertising data. The service is ad-supported. Advertising partners may set cookies or use similar technologies to serve and measure ads, subject to their own privacy policies.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to run the site and may use analytics and advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some may affect functionality.
Data retention
Messages in public inboxes are transient and are removed as numbers rotate. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and operational purposes.
Your choices
Because we don't hold accounts or personal profiles, there's little personal data tied to you. You can browse without registering, use your browser's privacy controls, and contact us with any questions.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
